Well it is week five of the One Room Challenge somehow and despite my best efforts to do things “in the proper order” the ADHD has officially kicked in and the projects are as scattered as the brain behind them!
I feel like there must be a cap on the amount of organization a person has; I use it all up during my clients project management and by the time I’m working on my own projects I have no choice but to jump around from one thing to the next. It’s just *girl science?!*
Regardless of the reasoning I am now finding myself surrounded by little projects everywhere.
Let’s start first with the fabric. On a buying trip with my mom I was lucky enough to source the most incredible fabric. It is whimsical and timeless and everything that I have been dreaming of for the space, and, because I bought the entire bolt, it was 15% off! I love the bold pattern mixed with the more traditional colour pallet and with the birds and raspberries there is NO WAY I could resist.
AND, because my mom is an absolute miracle worker and everything that she touches turns to gold, she whipped this material into drapery panels and a pillow cover for me the very next day! (Thank you mom for making all of my drapery dreams come true!)
Moving on to the “other” projects of note, I am following a tutorial by Salvaged Inspirations to update this wingback chair giving it a faux leather look. It’s going to be perfect when finished (I seriously hope!) but we are in a bit of an ugly duckling phase as it is now.
If you have been following along you will also know that I finished painting my cabinets last week and am still plan on adding additional cabinets to the top to give it more of a built in feel. Proud to say I am about halfway through that one as well!
What else is half completed? I thought you would never ask!
I am a few pieces shy on the trim front, the walls need to be touched up where I decided to patch them AFTER painting, the light fixture NEEDS to be replaced, and I need to style this baby to perfection! Oh AND clean up all of the little piles that I have tucked out of the watchful eye of the camera.
Jumping project to project isn’t the most efficient use of time for sure, but as long as I can close on all of these mini projects by the end of the challenge, I am considering it a win.
Do you think I can handle it?

What a beautiful window treatment! I am experiencing the jitters as well!! Good luck on the finish…
